In compliance with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) guidelines, your pharmacy fridge must undergo maintenance health checks annually.
Maintenance Health Checks
Under the PSI Guidelines it states your pharmacy fridge should be serviced annually and records of verification and validation should also be retained.
“A pharmacy refrigerator should be verified as fit-for-purpose prior to use and critical aspects should be re-validated at regular intervals thereafter. Initial verification should include, but not be limited to, establishing operating ranges and alarm conditions, challenging alarms, verification of displayed temperature and mapping of internal temperature.”
